Balanoposthitis in Shymkent

Balanoposthitis

Balanoposthitis is an inflammatory, acute, or chronic condition affecting the glans and foreskin of the penis. It typically causes pain, itching, burning, inflammation, and swelling of the glans and foreskin. Possible complications may include urethritis or paraphimosis.

The primary causes of balanoposthitis are fungal infections, viral infections, and bacteria. Although less common, the condition may also arise from allergic reactions or exposure to toxins.

  • erosive balanoposthitis – marked by the presence of clearly defined areas with white flocculent-scaly formations, which can progress to the development of large zones with extremely painful erosions;
  • gangrenous balanoposthitis – manifests with hyperemic zones, signs of intoxication, pronounced ulceration with purulent contents (leading to perforation and necrotization of the foreskin), bleeding, and in severe cases, it can progress to gangrene of the penis;
  • pustular ulcerative balanoposthitis involves the occurrence of multiple pustular formations that may evolve into trophic ulcers.

2. Chronic balanoposthitis has signs of ulcerative hypertrophic form.
