Dysfunctional uterine bleeding Shymkent
Dysfunctional uterine bleeding
Dysfunctional uterine bleeding (DUB, functional uterine bleeding) is a pathological bleeding from the uterus caused by a disturbance in the production of sex hormones and has no connection with general diseases or pregnancy.
Reasons
- Organic and functional diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system;
- Exposure to occupational hazards (chemical and physical);
- Metabolic disorders;
- Infectious diseases;
- Gynecological diseases;
- Congenital underdevelopment of the reproductive organs;
- Age-related changes in the body.
Bleeding can occur during adolescence, childbearing, and menopausal periods. Anemia may develop as a result of excessive bleeding.
Symptoms
The leading symptom is bleeding from the vagina, with varying degrees of intensity. These secretions differ from normal menstruation in the following ways:
- higher volume of blood secreted;
- prolonged duration of bleeding;
- disruption of cyclicity;
- appearance of blood at the end of sexual intercourse;
- abundant blood secretions during menopause;
- periods of amenorrhea (lasting 1.5 months or more) followed by bleeding of varying intensity and duration.
In addition, general weakness, dizziness, decreased physical performance, pallor of the skin and visible mucous membranes, headaches, and decreased appetite may be of concern.
Diagnostic
The nature and scope of the necessary examination are determined by the gynecologist, but in any case, it begins with the collection of medical history, general and gynecological examination. Gynecological ultrasound is performed, the content of hormones in the blood is determined, and the levels of iron in the blood and the state of the coagulation system are necessarily assessed.
Treatment
It is comprehensive. First of all, hemostatic therapy is administered. In women of reproductive age, menstrual function is regulated with the help of hormonal drugs, and general restorative and antianemic therapy is provided. If necessary, diagnostic curettage of the uterine cavity may be performed.
